The td5 engine was in production longer than the 200 or 300 . Ours has now done 140k with no real problems just air mass meter. The 200 hundreds we had were noisey and gutless. The 300 used to blow head gaskets between 3&4 and eat water pumps for a past time. Td5 engines from 52 plate onwards very good as long as you dont let a beardy freak run it on veg oil chip fat or snot. Get someone who knows what they are doing repair it ( not a week end mechanic ) :thumbup:

 

Totally agree, all the td5's that I know of that have broken down or gone pop are owned by people who do not service when supposed to and / or drive like idiots and / or service on a budget
