Stihl Glove vs Chipper

Was feeding armfulls of willow + alder brash into a chipper earlier this week when the guy I'm working with waves his hand at me, minus chainsaw glove.

He said he hardly felt it go, his hands are on the slim side, but the cuff on the glove had caught in the brash and pulled it off, straight into the chipper.

This is all we could find of it.

I've been using Efco class 2 gloves lately, just an elasticated cuff similar to the Husky gloves. I'm quite glad as my hand wouldn't come out of a Stihl glove that easily.

talking to one of my guys who recently did his cs31/32

you don't have to wear chainsaw gloves to pass the test anymore

But

you must wear gloves when sharpening the chain

everything changes:001_tt2:

Presumably strong work gloves or riggers gloves are ok for sharpening, you dont need balistic chainsaw gloves for that.

I have never owned any chainsaw gloves that i can remember. Pointless articles IMO.
