My spirits were really lifted today when a lady phoned and asked `Have you got any logs left`. She said that she had phoned for prices a few weeks ago but has been using what she had left from last year. Panic buying for logs ???

This will probaqbly be the first year that I run out before the winter is over, I have sold over 30 bulk bags in the last 3 weeks, and because 2008 was a slow year in terms of take downs I have less wood to sell.

i havent sold much yet, but the ones that i have sold are to repeat customers so thats good imo

I have sold 40m3, which has cleaned me out of seasoned wood. There is more on the way, but getting it below 25% has been slowed by the recient slightly moist weather.

By the end of this next week i will have sold 40 cube with about another 30 still left. Will all be gone by early Jan i think.

I consider myself to be playing at firewood but I do about 150-300 tonnes a year. I was delivering 16 cu on saturdays in August. I have people around me with 50k in cord wood stacked up. One log merchant I know has 400 tonnes of dry ash stacked up and he is not thinking of processing till January when it will be £240 for 2 Cu metres. Which is funny when you see people tearing about in old transits selling loads for £80. If its good firewood I buy it. I have a good stash of ash

Thats quite a flexible figure on your sales there Steve ( 150 to double ). My target for year one is £60k. Done £13.42 so far

Not really dave if its mild all winter 150 if its cold like last year 300 . To do 60k you will need to do 600 cu m or 400 tonnes . 3 cubic metres a day 7 days a week for 6 months. Only £59986.58 to go but at least its getting cold:thumbup1:

But Steve , your the one thats always saying that people should buy unseasoned so therefore the selling season should, could, be more than six months.
