Advertising in supermarkets

Has anyone tried advertising in supermarkets in the little dispensers normally around a stamp machine where you can place your business cards for a fee. If so with what success, I am thinking firewood.

I cant speak from experience, but to my recollection I have never seen anyone looking at these, let alone pick up a card.

Again i can`t talk from experience but some friends of mine found it a waste of time. I think it would depend which supermarket.

Free Free Homebase rang me up the other day Found your add in a local mag where trying to get local companys to but there flayers up in stores its £9 a week and you agree to a 24month contract I said sounds like a good idea till i found out i would only be in one store when theres 3 in my local area and i would have to get the flyers printed and i would have to do it all my self I said for £9 a week and you have to agree for a 24months You wont get many people saying yes to it

 

Shop windows are still the best people look at them but in super markets ive just had time wasters looking for cheap free work

Thats the same company that I enquired with. They do Tesco, Sainsburys, Wickes and Homebase. I have already decided against it, deciding that the money would be better spent on other forms of advertising. As soon as I said no I was offered a discount.

No, they print the flyer's, not you.

I go into the supermarket to get my food shopping......not look for a firewood merchant on the business card dispenser!

Those companies are a waste of money.

I know someone who works for Thompson and they look on these directories as good leads. I think it will mostly get you people looking to sell you more advertising.
