I have three ropes that i use for different things the Elderid xp jamaica, New england tachyon, and the yale poison hi-vy.

the elderid is a great rope for use with lockajacks, its got a harder outer surface so falls through far easier than the other two,

but I prefer the poison hi vy, if ya get chance to use it have a go, to work with its unberlievable compaired to the other two, and there both good ropes.

out of interest what does everyone think the best type of rope is? What is your 1st choice of climbing line and why what characteristics make it your 1st choice?

yeh me too....

please elaborate tom!

I climb with what i guess is the Ford of climbing ropes...the Yale XTC. Good all rounder with a decent price. Can't fault it at all. I might try the Imori (sp?) next time to see if a slightly smaller diameter makes a difference.

Lol

Its a good all round rope But once 70% of the rope is all over the tree it becomes very stretchy in the length

Hope that helps :001_smile:
