Had a job on with Mark Bolam today. Oak, dismantle, 4 stems, approx 65 feet tall and leave everything on site. Mark had a pic and short vid but here are a couple of pics of my phone.

 

A lot of firewood for someone... :thumbup:

 

Damm are you going back there if so grab me afew bits and save them for me :biggrin:

I assume the trees were just heavily infected (if thats the right term) with beef steak fungus, which i think is what causes the colouration.

 

Im sure Hama will be along to correct me if im wrong!

 

Oh yes your on the money!

 

It is highly prized, had it three times in 22 years get somone on here to carve you (and me!) a bowl from a couple of the logs, stunning. gotta love fungi! Good old fistulina hepatica, aint nature great!:thumbup1:

Don't think anyone soon is gonna harvest the fistulina effected lumber in this old fella.

no doubts about the age! probably a tad older if you ask me! qualitree!

 

Your camera seems fine monkey? whats up..

 

I will have my D5 for this years birthday present oh yeah, pin sharp and ultra ultra close ups! cant wait, need some more digital storage as well though, massive files!
