Would love the chance to operate one of those! :001_smile:

 

Anyone know what route you should go down to operate one? Start as a feller with just you and a saw, then work your way up?

is that a smaller thinnings machine john?they are amazing to watch.

 

its alot bigger than it looks, the bar was around 24" but the opperator is able to double cut to fell larger trees, great bit of kit

in days gone by maybe, by all accounts its a difficult job to get into and involves dedication and hard work. barony college are holding 2 eight week courses next year with very limited places, otherwise sweden and finland are your best options
