Do you know if the immediate land around the Tree is managed?

Appears from the photo's to be very bare.

i would say it has been a midden(dung pile), look at all the nettles. the poor tree has been overloaded with nitrogen and died,but it does look like a chippings on the ground, is this your tip tommer? oh and it would of been pretty old anyway, i would say the big hole has been caused by mechanical damage and then has been used as a fireplace too.what do you wreckon bandit:001_smile:
