The 3.0d Hilux can Tow 2.8T

Relialble, Efficent new engines, holds its value, the plus cab is big enough for kids in the back and you get a extra 280mm loading space over the double cab!

But for some reason you cant get the invincable package on the plus cab!

Which is a shame as that includes all the toys like sat nav etc

Here is my 130 tipper - just had a new body built on the back - can get a few chips in there

Al, Your truck looks the business. Neat. Neat. Neat.

Top advice lads, many thanks. The Top Gear bit on "killing the Hilux" was impressive. Still in two minds as to what to go for, but it will come!!

Many thanks lads, stay safe. All the best.

Hello mate,

I use a mk4 '99 single cab hilux for work. The mk4's onwards have turbo's which is what you definitely need with a load & towing. With high sides up I get around 2 cubic metres which isn't a huge amount but still pretty good... the hilux is pretty bullet proof & still has the foot print of a normal car which is why I got it in the 1st place. It's my only vehicle too. 25-30 mpg. 35+ on the newer d4d engines.

The only experience I have of landy's was a 130 single cab at the 1st place I ever worked with removable high sides. That was a pretty wicked truck too but again from I hear less comfy & less mpg's.

I must say I love my hilux & if I won the lottery, I'd still be driving it (along with a few other interesting vehicles).

Good luck.
