Its the System Leader system patented by thor

Quite good if you have a short log to stop the ram going all the way back up :thumbup1:

I run an 18ton vertical with system leader, excellent system, you can drop the ram with a foot pedal or just operating one lever to just pinch the log, operating both hand levers gives you the power stroke. Must be the safest log splitter to use, as you are simply not tempted to alter the controls for one handed use!

Re two handed use.

I appreciate that two handled machines are the safest but in reality wouldn't you have to be a bit of a Joey to stick your hand between the blade and the log? And if that is the case....As people buy these machines for speed and efficiency then why not just stick to the single handed operation?

....and if Joey did stick his hand between blade and log, joey would sue the manufacturer for his stupidity.

It is the manufacturers responsibility to make their machines as Joey proof as possible.

Its a shame but you are right.

I was going to put that in my post, everything has to be dumbed down to the lowest common denominator these days.

It's not just getting your hand under the blade being a danger; logs slide, twist & burst as the blade pushes through. There follows pain & possible crush injuries to the 'free' hand holding the log. Been there, lessons learned, no serious injuries thankfully.
