Pattern parts for chippers.

Anybody know if its possible to getr non genuine/ pattern parts for a 9" vermeer feed roller. I am going to attack mine with the grinder to sharpen it, but would ideally like a new one.....but they are 800+vat from vermeer. If it is past sharpening then i will want a new one.

 

Or is anybody breaking a 935?

Could you build it up with weld mate, then sharpen that? Just a thought..

Good idea mate, if required. I wouldnt attempt it, but know just the man for the job. He has done tipes and flights on tractor driven post hole borers very successfuly, so this shouldnt be a problem.

When i get it out i reckon i will be able to sharpen it anyway- they dont look very worn at all TBH.

whats up with it anyway ? have you not tried anyone like satturn machine knives ? im pretty sure that they sell anything blade associated with chippers , including anvils .

tomma,only grind the inside face ,as doing the outside rounds it of making it worse than blunt ,if you understand what i mean

Id go with the welding idea tom,theres a firm called In steel in Porkellis they can weld anything,there are a couple of guys on here who live in the states,mabe one of them could help you out,its worth a try.

Buy some flat bar, grind an edge on them, grind/oxy off the old knives, weld on the new.

 

Works well, costs nothing.
