just reading that, i wondered why the stop/bar button wasnt pressed, then realised after the initial end of the rope had gone in would it of wrapped round the flywheel, which wouldnt of stopped rotating?anyone had a rope go through, what happens?

don't want to state the obvious but tidy up ropes before chipping.

 

Actually tidy up all gear before chipping.. don;t know how many people i've seen draggin branches around or over gear tpo the chipper..simple put everything in neat pile.

Yep I have, well witnessed one anyway.

 

Stopping the rollers wouldnt have done a thing once the flywheel has hold of it, well in our case the rope was getting wrapped around the flywheel shaft which eventually clogged up and stopped it dead.
