I want a side strop (lanyard) that retracts like a seat belt.

I've already had a word with Nigel off here about that but never heard anything back. Came up with a grand idea for it with drawings, shame really!

I've mentioned it to loads of suppliers over the years at various shows and no one seems interested.

I would like to see on the market a super heavy duty bungee shock cord or Kinetic energy storing long strop that you could use to pull over back leaners quickly.

Attach the strop high in the crown and then attach the other end to a standard tirfor, operate the tirfor to build up and store energy in the shock cord to a measured amount and then bore and release and the tree goes over in one fast sweeping motion and doesn't get chance to think about it

A guage or measuring device can be placed between the tifor and anchor point to measure built up energy

here you go

I actually made one about a year ago back Dave, but getting a steel core to coil up small is not that easy so by the time I'd finished the whole thing was way to big to be worth anything.

I would not want steel core, but I guess most would, making the likes of me a very small market.

You have been a real innovator Reg, in what must be a very difficult market place!!:thumbup1:

was well impressed when i invented a hole in the chipbox with a chainsaw for the ladders to poke through.. i wish someone would invent some way of stopping the chip coming through when the ladders aren't in there..:blushing:

Sorry Ed but that idea and the flap were patented 7 years ago

Exactly something like that Ady, It has the strength factor but not the stretch factor

I already have a kinetic energy strap Ady, but they only have a stretch factor of 20% which would mean you only get an initial pull of 0.9m then the power would tail off. You would need to put 3 in a row to build up enough elasticity.
