Arb related invention ideas

The idea was more for shock cord which is elastic inside a multiplat outer. the multiplat outer allows so much stretch then stops, bit like a bungee jumping cord, infact a bungee jumping cord rated at 8 tonne or so would be ideal

There must be something like that knocking about you can have a try with.:thumbup1:

the last thing you want is a bungee rope when doing descent size leaners, it is all about control. A lot of the old skidders would have a small fast winch (aswell as a big grunter of a winch)that you would attach lower on the stem, so when it was on its way you could pull a lever and get it down quick.

Lower down the stem means much much more brute force. High in the canopy needs very little indeed.

I proved my theory last year by pulling over a slightly backleaning monster ash tree on my own with a throw line

With my superior intelligence control is easy sorted mate. There would be a one way system, once it comes forward it wont go back. :biggrin:

just had a mental image of dean using a kenetic rope to pull over a tree. . . . dean and his famous bad luck over calculate the force required, sending the whole tree flying through the air when the kenetic energy is released

:lol::lol:

I've calculated that If I tie 8 kinetic ropes together and tie to the back of the landy which is fully loaded with chip that if I could reach 60mph in the direction of my yard, I could get a 2ft DBH tree to land straight in the yard from the other side of Huddersfield

My arb invention is a fuel pick up with a small radio receiver attached to a tiny detonator and charge.

It replaces your standard chainsaw filter and can be detonated by remote control.

If your saw gets nicked you just send a text to the detonator and the scrote that took it gets a surprise.

Have you tried Oregon or Husky.

God knows Husky need a new design of fuel spout.:laugh1:

Or Dragons Den.:thumbup:

It's got nothing to do with a fuel spout. Yeah I tried husky but all I got was an answering service from Electrolux :confused1: Washing machines I think.

A few months ago someone from here suggested that I take it to Fletcher Stewart.
