Any mods which allow an engine to breathe and realise its full potential can only be a good thing. My enduro bike is so much better for it and so are saws.

If a saw's cutting faster it's safer when you need to keep the cut going as the tree starts to fall. And less effort too. Just my opinion!

I run a 044,361 and two 020t's all modded, well apart from one 020t which has an early model exhaust on it which is slightly different from the new style exhaust, the 044 cuts more like an 066, it's loud though so probably breaks all kinds of Puwer regs but hey, I'll worry about that when I'm sitting on my deck when I'm retired. Saws with modified mufflers run cooler and will be less prone to heat damage from operator errors. Other than a modified muffler you can buy a Maxx Flow air cleaner. After this all you have to do is set the squish, then machine the base of the cylinder. Then take that same amount off the top of the piston about a 1/4 inch from and to the outside of the piston. This makes a pop up piston and gives higher compression and better power gains. Also, you can widen the intake and exhaust ports and match the carp and the muffler to the new port sizes.
