cool thats fine mate,

i just think in some cases people are to soft on people breaking the rules, and that sometimes they can get away with to much, but yes it does have to be a balance,

I did a job clearing branches by a fishing pool for a local club last week and they seemed to think me making sure I was doing proper pruning cuts rather than just cutting a set amount off was a waste of time. Even when i tried to explain about the regrowth from pollard cuts they just seemed to want the quick fix. i did my best to please them and for the health of the trees though :)

Hang on.

Someone hacked off a few Branches from a Minging Sycamore and threw them in the River....

Thats hardly Bludgeoning White Swans or Setting Horse's on Fire.

Its not their Sycamore though Mike nor their river :001_smile:

I have emailed the fishing club to tell them the error of their ways, blood sports are under fire, this sort of thing doesn't help anyone

trouble is it wouldnt have bothered them if it was a tpo'd veteran oak on the river bank, i deal with this on SAC and SSSI sites all the time with angling clubs, i will try and get some examples next week of ash trees in a ravine woodland that have been hacked about by the angling with a pole saw
