Ok so I'm sorry, another high one but had little choice!

 

On closer inspection not a great hinge but wanted it down asap as one side was just mush.

Cheers :-) messed the hinge up cos forgot about resetting the gob! Needed a slight change of direction away from the nursing home. Tis a bit disconcerting when you bore in & no saw dust flys out! :-)

Oh yea ! every reason to go high to find some decent ish wood . When it looks dodgey a few " test " bore cuts working up till you are happy is fair enough . All good and no probs so well done bud .

7/10? Face cut looks a bit deep. Did you make a high back-cut to get the jack in place?

6/10 . But + 2 for using a Husky and - 3 for a Stihl. - 1 for dog rough wedges but + 3 for putting that up on a Sunday night.

Gets a +2 for being smart enough to cut a deeper hinge on a back leaner- easier to get the tree to the tipping point 😎

Yes, back leaning and back weighted. Felled straight in to aid snedding. Round about two feet diameter on the hinge (just over), don't think the back cut is that high?

 

Not sure why some pictures are the wrong way round.
