If yiour car has an auxeliery output you need to get a lead that goes into the output then into the iphone most newer stereos has them most older ones dont

thats how it is with an ipod and my stereo anyway:001_smile:

i was looking at these in currys Bob, you plug it into your fag lighter and it charges yor phone and plays stuff through the stereo, there is also an extra battery thingy you can take with you to top up the phone. £65

iTrips are good but if you're on a long haul trip you find that you'll start getting distortion quite often as you move into a zone with a radio station that broadcasts on a similar frequency that the iTrip is set to, so you're forever changing to an unused frequency while driving, which is a bit of a ball-ache.

You can pick up these 'cassete tapes' with a wire coming out of a corner with a headphone jack in the end, you plug it into the iphone/mp3 player as you would plug in headphones, put the 'cassete' in your car, press play on the stereo and the iphone and it plays whatever's on.

Of course you'll need a cassete deck in your wagon, but you can pick these things up for pennies and you'll never be forever changing frequencies or changing batteries.

My stereo has a USB port in it, so I picked up a few memory sticks and crammed them with music, I can also plug in an Ipod with the USB computer cable but it shuffles all the tracks, which is good sometimes.

The cd players in our cars have aux input and we just have phono to phono wire that goes from headphone socket to the aux input. Soooo much better than any fm transmitter.

FM transmitter is quite good, probably better than wires everywhere. Any one got any tips on extending battery life, the iPod Touch seems to last about an hour between charges, which is pretty useless for a portable device. I've switched off the bluetooth and even wi-fi in attempt to improve it. When I compare this to my Blackberry which will last 3-4 days between charges with everything switched on, its pretty disappointing.
