HDR Photos

Just been on a car forum im a member of and one of the guys on there, Is messing about with HDR, some it looks amazing, Some of it looks pants

 

I dont know much about it but i wondered if anyone on here has a dabble??

If im honest Rob, I dont know much about it at all, The chap on the car websites pics were the first ive come across, Some do look amazing!!

I'm really no expert, but here goes;

 

It seems to be a new technique possible with the invent on digital imaging, whereby the photographer takes 3 photos of the same scene, but exposes one to capture the highlights, one for the mid-tones and the third for the shadows, etc.

 

All three images are then used to create the HDR final image.

 

I think that's what it is??

 

Might have a dabble myself.

 

I'm sure Mr Hancock would be able to confirm!!

i play with it, it only looks good on SOME images,, mainly architecture,

 

it will only work on images with no moving objects as you have to take 3 shots each time..

using a plug in for photoshop..

 

HDR photo software & plugin for Lightroom, Aperture & Photoshop - Tone Mapping, Exposure Fusion & HDR Imaging for photography

 

some newer top end DSLR's will now take the three shots for you..
