If you've done what they asked, I'd stand your ground, sounds like thier trying it on, I've just got paid off a bad debt after two months of chasing amazing what a letter giving them 5 days to pay else it goes to debt collectors and accrues 5% interest at a weekly rate does to free off someones wallet :thumbup1:

They are trying it on mate.

I always explain, politely and nicely, that if they don't pay for the work done, the arisings still belong to them, and they better have them back (because you don't want to get done for theft), tipped as near to the tree as possible.

This even worked on a firm of solicitors.

Rough? Hold your arms out dead wide and shout 'My dads that big'.

Rough idea of how to pay people for a fair days graft, more like.

Hope you get it sorted, pal.

i would go down every way of making sure you get paid. maybe its just me but i wouldnt care how much hassle it took to get them to pay even if it is tiny money. i would not let someone not pay me for what they wanted doing. im just stubborn i guess but people like that do my nut in.

some good advice in most of the above replies.

keep it legal with informal letters stating that interest will accumulate.

dont do any confrontations as that will just make them more stubborn to pay.

good luck.

if you dont get anywhere just call it a loss and put it down to experience.

I should of sent a quote was just too busy and trusted her so it is a valuable lesson, they said they just don't to pay the full price I'm gonna send the invoice see what happens if it's a hundred pound short or something think I better take the chip back and tip it on the

drive, I wouldn't be so bothered but I didn't want to pollard it anyway but she talked me into it. Anyway reduced two trees today for a customer and it was more than twice the price and he couldn't be happier said the trees look natural and struggles to find the cuts I've made made

Haha read your thread dean bet he was gutted when you just laughed at him, I've been thinking the same he must be really rough if he has to get his wife to ring me and tell me. She told me to send the bill but she doesn't know what will happen she's gonna try and calm him down so he's obviously gonna send a cheque for less like a coward and hope there's no come backs.
