One Saw To Rule Them All?

Oh yeah 7901 with a 18"bar but the plastics are a bit pooh.

Stihl 440 with an 18 inch bar for a long time and now the 441 with a 20 inch bar. These 2 saws have done the bulk of my work over the years. Apart from the big felling when the 066 is broke out. Skyhuck said nothing whistles like a 066 and he is right... ITS GOT TO BE 066 THOUGH...Used Huskys in Belgium for a while and never quite got the feel for em.

to cut smaller trees or firewood and have fun doing it i use 460(with bigger exhaust) with 16inch bar,

Husky for me too, I used a mid range one for years which would take care off 90% of work, had the biggest husky for a while which would fly through thick stuff but was only used on the odd occasion.

Stihl & husky are on par with reliability and hard to seperate both, fine saws and down to your own personal prefs in the end, Husky seem to rev more so cut that bit faster, I would stick with Husky number one & Stihl a very close second, but I do like red :-)

I love my 200 rear handle for light snedding / chipper saw, The 460 is a great saw too.

One saw for everything is no good.

 

But I could manage just fine with two, 066 and 020.

 

In fact I did for many years.

 

ditto, 660sings! its light enough for use in the tree all day, snedding and felling, handels a 30inch bar easily . . .but stick an 18inch bar on, wack the depth gauges down and get ready to :biggrin:

stuck a new crankshaft in my ms650 this morning, been out cutting 18 inch beech logs with a 20 inch bar and the depth gauges down,really enjoyed it made me smile, the 357xpg is just a bit weak but use it on small stuff. prefer the 650 to my 084 unless it,s real big stuff. got a soft spot for my old 181xp it just sounds so good.

I miss my 066, fookin pikeys...... 395 comes in close i might evan like it a bit more,but any thing is better than the weight of a 3120 or 88 up a tree pulling your harness around your ankles and using geoff cape's super powers to lift in to a cut.
