looks like a good option. do you know if its narrow enough for a 6ft olympic bar?

i just ordered one of those towers but think im going to try and cancel it first thing in the morning

Outside to outside of the uprights where the bar would sit is 46inch if that helps :confused1:

The bit where the bar thingymajig goes fatter at the ends to stop the discs sliding into the middle!

Let us know what you go for Steve.

At our session tonight we decided we need dip and pull-up facilities in our Monday night gym (mates commercial garage, so plenty of space).

I remember had a go on my friends pull up bar that hooks onto door frame, crash bang wallop down me and the door frame came haha.

Careful if your climbing alot not to overdo the pull ups as climbing really hits your lats and back muscles hard as it is.

Got bench and deadlift comp in Carlisle end of month if want me to wear an arbtalk shirt on the platform let us know steve I don't mind doing bit of free advertising

hey yeti is it an open compertition? what sort of poundages are you hoping to do/ do you use power suits?

Not to be so anal lol but knurling is actually the scored in criss crossed grip part on the bar.The part you refer to Mark is simply called the collar

it's been a year plauged with hard jobs and nasty injuries dave so not hoping for much other than to just make it to the comp haha

it is indeed an open comp however there are the usual weight catergories.

Competiion is a push and pull and also a bodyweight bench for reps comp for fun aswell.Competition is raw so belt only no equipment

I train equipped (bench shirt and squat briefs) and un equipped.I only started using a shirt after my pec tear, but to be fair I only gained 34lbs on my bench from it

just put up a 192kg bench for three tonite and last week hit 297kg deadlift for two and nearly a very close third

so numbers shouldn't be that bad

Thanks for putting that straight Big Man, thought that was chequering, like my gunstocks!

Very impressive figures, I'm like you with a decimal point moved!

Good luck in your comps mate, and get some pics up if you can.

Is a lifting vest worth getting just for day-to-day training? Don't want to kid myself I'm stronger than I am.
