I know where I'd start the cuts.

I took some rubbish to the council skip today, I was delivering logs and I chucked a couple of our old sash windows and our old fridge freezer on top.

When I got to the skip there was no one around, (our town dumps have recently been re-furbished and now have about three skips and a place for fridges) I went into the office where there were 4 guys sitting around drinking tea. I asked where I should put a fridge and some old windows, I was told I couldn't dump as I was a commercial vehicle, I was prepared for this and dug my heels in. I was a tree surgeon dumping a fridge after all. so they said I would have to fill in a form and could be subject to a huge fine.

So now I could dump my stuff, one of the guys managed to ease himself off his chair and come outside to help. "the windows go in that one and the fridge goes round the corner" he said. " Ok i'll pass the windows down to you" I said.

He laughed in my face saying "I'm not lifting anything" and walked back inside, he seemed really surprised that I expected him to help. so I had to do it all by myself.

Why it takes 4 men to run a re-cycling facility that serves a town of 2500 people is a mystery, they probably get 30 cars a day.

I can beat that. Last week was quiet so we built a fence in my front garden to keep the kids in. I took the spoil from the post holes along with some old myplex and turf to the tip. I had the same arguement, I told him to get his boss, which he refused to do but let me tip.

The tip rat said " you can't tip the soil on the soil pile though, you need to shovel it into the skip" Ok I said, would you mind seeing me back? He then called me back until I reversed into the skip then said "ha, ha, thats why god gave you mirrors so you can see where your going" I politely told him to go away as I was getting cross.

He then followed me round the tip as I sorted my waste. I've got rear barn doors on the landy which I bungee back. On the last bay he was supervising me unload and I reminded him that he had made me cross since I'd been there and he might like to find something else to do. His response was to ignore me and pick up some plastic from the floor beside my truck.

As I closed the barn doors he sprung back into life just in time to connect with my closing barn door (this was honestly an accident as he stood up just at the right moment). As he screamed and bled I told him "ha, ha thats why god gave you a head, so I could bash a hole in it with my truck"

Then he started screaming that he'd been assaulted so I decided to leave. I don't think I'll be going back up there in my work vehicles for a while.

i daren't show my face at our local tip anymore after a run in with a jobsworth. Admittedly i was being a bit naughty taking a load of conifer behind the landy. the guy came up to me and said you cant tip that, its commercial waste. I replied that it was from my own garden, and i wasnt a pro. he said i must be as i was wearing chainsaw pants and had a lid in the back of landy, i said only an idiot would use a saw without the pants on, to which he replied, well i dont when i chainsaw..... my witty retort of "and thats why you work at the $£*@ing tip" was not well recieved and got me a telling off from his boss as i left with my empty trailer!
