Hi chris, great images, a moth crysalis, a webless spider probably of the same family as the african harvestman, hunters without traps. and the lime green thing you mention looks like a lacewing, where its eyes bright red?

As I'm sure you're aware, your extra is one of the Ichneumonidae, the family of parasitic wasps that caused dear ol' Darwin much metaphysical concern.

A beauty from a garden pond a couple of years ago. I did look it up at the time but the grey matter not being what it was... ideas anyone...? The colour's good; the body really is sky blue, not pale grey.

Tony, your knowledge continues to suprise me, what is your background? Did you do some form of ecology at any stage?

Nope nothing formal or structured. Just an amateur interest - mainly honed whilst on the tools. Ideal for breaking up the monotony of the working week. Much in the same way as I guess you do. Get down from the tree, grab a cup of tea and have a wander.

Second one looks like a Baetis spp. A river/pond fly related to the Mayfly.

the green insect had bright green eyes. and the woodland i found it in has a river running through it so i wouldnt have been surprised if it was some kind of mayfly (google search of "baetis" only shows up fly fishing lures haha!).
