I've got a Fiat Doblo 1.9 diesel on a 54 plate.

Cheap as chips to run - does 55 to 60 m.p.g. when driven correctly - and insure.

Never had a problem with it and I've done 50k miles in 3 years in it.

Service parts are cheap and because it's nice and simple there's nothing electronic to go wrong.

Acres of space in the back with sliding side doors.

One downside is it's pretty heavy on the front tyres.

the connect is probably a little big, and the escort is probably a bit too old,its for my employee to take home at night so economy and cheap insurance are important.

Thanks for the info so far.:001_smile:

Astra van all the way mate, had about 5 now some of which were my own some were company owned, if you can afford the new shape even better as there 6 speed and youi can get the the 1300cc diesel version with euro tec engine = cheaper tax and insurance.

If you get the older shape pre 06 beaware the heater hoses perish at around the 90.000 mileage mark, not end of the world but can be costly if left.

Small pick up you say? seen this in oz, quite small about the size of an old ford P100 BUT it comes standard with a V8 (6.2 i think) so would be a bit gutsy on the go go juice, im sure Andrew would love it though :lol:

Holden Maloo :thumbup::thumbup:

Thought i'd stick my opinion down in here.

If its just as a perk for an employee, give him a pay rise to help him get his own transport. You will save in the end.

I wouldn't be buying a vehicle that cant make me any money, so if you do buy one, make sure it can be used to earn. :thumbup1:
