you will get a wider range of opinion from the members if you search threads on this specific issue, as people will not continually re-post information.

Good advice, I do a search now before posting as i know someone somewhere may have asked the same question.

 

I started with bowline/prussik, then progressed to anchor hitch/blakes with pulley and am now on a VT/hitch climber with a bowline or anchor ( no spliced eyes as yet). Each time I have changed has been a positve move(literally). If you find you don't get on with a system at first, persevere, fine tune, and the results will pay off. Do not be afraid of changing. My next rope WILL have a spliced eye. :001_smile:

 

With the VT, I started with 4 wraps around the climbing line, too loose. Then I tried 6 wraps, too tight, (does this sound like a a certain fairy tale? :biggrin: ) So yeah, you guessed it, 5 wraps, just right! Each change my climbing has gone up a level and feels great. :biggrin:
