Do you have to run the saw on Aspen from new Rob??

I have been but how true is the whole 'you have to run it from new or it causes problems when it cleans out carbon deposits' thing is I just don't know...

The only thing I think you may have to do if you changed over is perhaps alter the mixtures a touch but other than this I would have thought Aspen would be fine to put in older machines. The fellow at the garden machinery shop has tried it in loads of things and his take was '2 strokes run better on it'

We need the Aspen fellow to explain more on this!

Comes with the Husky filler adapter to screw directly onto the aspen can.

Are those the same husky non spill fillers that only last for 2 months? I went through loads of these and they always started to seize and play up very quickly. Moved onto the stihl version and it lasted 2 years...

...but maybe they've improved them now.

The fuel changing problem that i have seen is mostly with saws that been run for many years with regular gas and 35-40:1 mix !

A friend have a 357xpg etech and runs what gas he gets his hands on regular or aspen it all goes in the saw and it still lives and runs fine after three years.

Personally i'm a bit more careful and only runs aspen in all my saws, hedgecutters and trimmers !

The saws are woodsported and looks like new inside despite the abuse they get :)

Chief Engineer at Aspen Sweden said - "Strictly alkylate fuel is outside the spec for UL95 and therefor it is outside the fuel recommendation from the manufacturer, but in any case that a damage to the engine by the fuel, the fuel supplier is liable, so it does not change very much. In Sweden and some other countries we have an oral OK to use alkylate fuel in Briggs and Honda machines and we are now running tests with Honda in Sweden and B&S in the USA, to get an approval. As of today we have written approvals from Husqvarna, Stihl and Dolmar. By the way, this also the case for their bought engines."

We can supply a copy of the written approvals if required - just email us at [email protected]

Sawdust - we'd encourage you to purchase Aspen from one of our dealers - which you can find at Aspen Stockists - clean fuels, environmental and green fuels, petrol and bio diesel in the uk

That way you can build a relationship with them and they can offer you a suitable discount for volume purchases.

However - if you are a long way from a dealer we, AAOIL, can supply you direct. We offer a professional user discount of 10%. Free carriage starts at 54 cans of the 5 litre size (270 litre). A pallet can be mixed with Aspen 2, Aspen 4, EcoPar, Agia Bio Chain oil and all our other products.

But to answer your question; for pro users Aspen 2 is £11.03 for five litres. So 50 litres would be £110.30

The other option is to become an Aspen dealer. If you think you could sell the concept and like the brand. We offer support to new dealers by helping them launch their new venture by working with local press as well as free support marketing and onsite sales training.

This would mean you could benefit from the dealer price and make some money from selling Aspen to customers, local authorities and the general public.

For more details contact - [email protected] - or call 01929 555975
