A bedford rascal??:lol::lol:

Fair point, maybe one and a half would be more realistic, with the rest logged up, like I say it's a big one compared to my normal jobs so harder to judge I guess.

It's a trafic,

What could take you a day could take someone else 1-2 hours especially if you dont really do trees and they do.

Although 2-3 loads of chip (to me would be 12-18 cube) would sound like a BIG tree and I would guess at £1000+ :001_smile:

Without the pics no chance of pricing it from here.

You price sounds about right for a days work though.

I've already priced it a couple of days ago and didn't get it.

I worked it out at two of us for a day plus chipper with tipping fees etc. I priced in at £350 for felling and removal with stump grinding as an optional extra if they wanted it at £100.

They got three quotes one from another fella at about £200 but in their words, "He didn't seem like he knew much about trees."

But the other quote, the one they are going with, was for £150. The only way I can see that being possible is doing the work in half a day, which I don't think I could have done. So am I working too slow, or have I just met someone working for peanuts?

I only ask as I have had 2 of these in quick succession. Virtually the same story on both.

Chances are there peeing up your back, got a quote for 200 quid but didnt go for it as the bloke didnt seem to know what he was on about but then go for a quote thats even cheaper! Forget it, the guy is working for nowt and the customers are getting a bargain and are full of sh1t.

Thanks guys.

I've done it both ways in the past with jobs, not just tree's but general garden work I've quoted on too. I think they balance in the end.

I'll have to get a few big uns done I guess, to work out my timings on them and see if I'm right.

Oh well, off to Capel for the day now.

Thanks again

If its a price your happy you'll make at then stick to it, you can sit at home and earn nowt without knackering yourself, I've heard people trot out stories like that for years, if a customer tries it now I just say "good luck to them if they think they can do it for that price" and walk away :thumbup1:

i thinkyour price is good, sounds like your the same as me i mostly do domestic work, with a standard rate of 350 for 2 poeple and chipper 8 hours a day, give or take some depending on the job. Somepoeple are very happy, others keep going till they find someone to do it for less. dont worry about it, cause there isnt much we can do.
