Spring in full swing and hearing the cuckoo yesterday reminds me of good old sayings about nature, some clever, some funny, some classic. Post em here!

 

I'll start with this one:

 

The Cuckoo comes in April,

Sings a song in May

Whistles a tune in the middle of June

and then he flies away.

"Cast not a clowt till may is out"

 

Some say "clowt" means clothing and that you should keep your warm clothes on.

 

Others say it means clod of earth or sod and that it means you should not start digging over the garden.
