How/why did you get into treework?

my old job as a national transport manager was crap 140+ wagons that ran 24hrs 364.5 days a year running food from food manufacturers to the major supermarkets timed deliverys etc stress blah headaches blah nightmares etc no family time etc

trees are the best work a working man can get, honest, hard, fun @ work .:)

decent mone,y working outside, no office politics.

I was told too! I started as a nipper cleaning saws and tidying ropes. Used to have to work weekends tending brash fires (everything was always burnt in the old days) and deadwooding with a 3 strand rope, grey GT belt and a bowsaw.

I never really imagined doing anything else - although now I wish I had :D

Been rock climbing for 18 years now and got bored of the manufacturing job (although I am still there - money) and wanted to work outdoors. Worked a few days with a mate, bought a cheap saw, did felling ticket, started advertising and things have grown from there. I am still part time but I am sure if i pushed all the jobs I got offered I could fill full time hours.
