I truly believe I've got years left in me as I've never enjoyed climbing so much in ages. The switch to VT and getting back in the gym has really turned things round for me....oh and not forgetting seeing the passion other people have for the job, when I really think about it it's all down to finding Arbtalk:thumbup1:

It didn't get stuck Mark, it broke down before I got there :001_rolleyes:

I think the type of work you mainly do will have a bearing on your EFFECTIVE age as a climber.

I find medium dismantles and suchlike physically fairly easy.

Then I look at some of the positions Old Snake was in a few weeks back reducing an Oak...

That type of work would have an old codger blowing chunks and swallowing his dentures!

Mick touched on a good point for me - gym work definately helps.

Q: What do tree surgeons do when they get old?

A: Die.

I know a few older climbers round here, think DannyT will tell you. Bill (I Think) is in his 50's and still going strong.

Yep Bills 52, and climbs everyday. Awsome! Leaves a lot of the young ones standing. Offered to climb today but his harness was already out. Must be me :laugh1::lol:

My dads 52 and even though he isn't a climber there's not many young lads can keep up with him on the ground!!..........
