i'm looking at buying a chainsaw. At the moment ive only had a go with a few different saws, ive also asked a couple of people of their views on which is the best ground saw. From what ive tried out myself and taking in concideration of other peoples opinions i have chosen to go for either a Stihl MS 260 or a Husqvana 357 XP. Have i made the right choise and which should i choose?

A good groundsman would have a 26, and a 66!

If your just looking for a saw to cut up brash and smaller jobs id go for the ms 260 with 16inch bar its got good power to weight ratio and easy to work on only down side is the price

Go the 260 with 16/18 inch bar... most useful for snedding, small felling, cord wood etc dont be suckered into buying a big saw for posing, the smaller ones got plenty of poke (a sharp chain helps!).

One saw cant do everything ie ring up big tree trunks etc but my 26 defo gets the MOST use.

Best saw purchase i made! you might even get a good deal on a xpg now summers coming, dont use the heated handles a great deal myself but loverly jubbly when your freezing cold, its a luxury but i got mine for the same price as a standard when i purchased it at the start of summer!

I have husky 357 xp cant fault it this is my second worn the first out after 12 months of hard day in day out felling still runs but has carb problems. Also have a ms361 people advised me they are all round plenty of power, torque and quick acceleration to be truthfull they both perform very well just a case of personal preference.
