Something similar but less complicated was made from a 1/2" spring steel rod for ground skidding multiple trees when thinning, something thinner would work for ziplining.

Hence why probably never. It’s an idea but I haven’t worked out how it’s better than a biner yet. We don’t need new things if they’re not better.
