I know in an ideal world the answer is £0, but can I ask members would they would feel comfortable paying for this amount of unprocessed oak? I will be collecting myself. Thanks!

£5 or a 4 pack of beer. If it really was in short supply. You should be able to get that amount for free I'd've thought, without too much trouble., just by keeping your eyes peeled when traveling around.

So it's been there since last summer? Covered over though - looking at the grass underneath so partially dried (will still need to be split, stacked and dried - oak - for another 18 months. 2 car boots full, small loads adds a premium (tipper load compared to £15 'sacks' from the supermarket).

As above, not a huge amount though, unsplit logs car boot load at £10 a go, so £20 for the lot is where I guess you'll agree with the seller.

Be aware that 'oak firewood' is of course the firewood to go for... kiln dried, split and delivered at £180 m3 or whatever it is... this wood is a few steps back from that. Take away the cost to get it to that state and half the price to go to the step below.... so for example £180 m3, this is 1/4m3 max (being generous), £45. Delivery at £10, to give £35, half that to give cost of split logs: £17 and take away labour, 1 hour - so commercially this is worth about £5. So be aware that the seller might be thinking they are onto a big pay day you might need to show them that actually it is not as good as they think, sadly for them.

Oak is not the best fire wood to go for IMHO. Takes ages to season burns ok but slow . would not make a fire totally with oak . Would mix it with sycamore/ash/beech etc etc . I only use it to put a big lump on last thing to keep the fire in for the morning really . So I would not pay anything for that small pile . If it was beech maybe a tenner tops .
