Just be civil and don’t type anything you wouldn’t be prepared to say to someone’s face.

If someone asks a question, why not answer it?

Instead of the old left leaning switcheroos that a number of the anonymous members seem to have habit of doing.  Trying to be clever and garner a laugh from others who utilise the same tactics when discussing certain topics.

Edit:  and for the record I prefer straight talking people who speak their mind.  At least you know where they’re coming from.  As opposed to cryptic answers which neither address the situation or make a valid point.

If you don’t like the conversation or viewpoint then just either ignore it, move  on, or have an adult conversation.

Not everyone has to agree in with everyone else.  It isn’t the way of the world.

Sorry Rich, if that IS your real name, but you seem to have allowed the point that Mr Yourn Amehere was making to flap gracefully over your head there.

Personally, I wouldn't begrudge anyone wanting to remain anonymous on here after being told, repeatedly and in no uncertain terms, that we should be afraid of some members.

Yep.

But just to clarify since it is attracting attention.

As to the thread: a certain other thread was being wrecked by a certain needy person who insisted on clogging it up by constantly asking for personal details from other members.

This thread was started as a comedy antidote to that irritant: so that his enquiries could be brought here rather than have them continue to infest that other thread; hence the tone of the OP and hence the advice given therein regarding divulging personal info. Advice that has been born out by that certain poster continuing to use personal details to demean and belittle other posters and anything they post.

This thread was never meant to be taken seriously, was never meant to grow beyond the op; but as with many threads it has transcended its origins and taken on a life of its own. Which is fine.

As to anonymity: in the old days you were just another poster with a comedy name: no would ever dream of using their real name nor having an existence beyond the forum. It was assumed you would post in good faith and engage honestly with other posters: this constant attacking of the posters themselves rather attending to and discussing the matters they raise is unsettling and leaves me more disinclined than ever to 'come out'.

As to myself: for many other reasons that are not important my anonymity is important: I can have no internet presence whatsoever: that's just the way it is.

I am Nemo.

Sorry for any upset; I meant no harm.

I think over the years our definition of Troll has changed.
By today’s standards he was quite mild mannered.

Agreed. I used parenthesis in the hope that was conveyed.

Funnily enough, it is and have had the pleasure (or may be the displeasure 😉) to meet many of the fellas on this site including Rich and Joe so no need to tell anyone who I am or what I do.....mostly complaining bitterly about the state of their and others saws👍.

Sounds like someone needs another 200t to rebuild. I can help.

If this man came up to me in the street demanding to know my name, where I live, and where I work, I wouldn't tell him.

Why would it be any different online?  Some information doesn't need to be shared with every faceless weirdo.

Anyway, I don't even know why I'm fighting Steven's corner for him. Hang on... is that his real name?  Not very anonymous, is it?

Why would that man come up to you?  And why do you make a mountain out of a molehill?  I have noticed that you often take everything to the worst possible outcome.

This forum in the other hand is where questions get asked on tree topics, political topics and religious topics.

When you are in a conversation with someone and they make a point.  It is nice to know where their point is coming from.

You are not a saint Peds, you do your fair share of stoking the fire with your pictures and memes when ever you disagree with someone else’s point of view.

The post I have replied to is a classic example.

Anyway, I am off to walk the dog.

Enjoy your evening.

Total rubbish, and to clarify the question was asked to SP, he was and is or should be capable of answering for himself without others jumping in.

Rich put it far better than I could, I suggest you read his post.

Another aggressive non-contribution that really creates a sense of community.

Maybe you should just stick your knuckles in your eyes and cry boo hoo for England and St George!
