What I am saying is if the scenario was as it sounds I.e one guy climbing a tree while others felling around him and one said fell takes him out of his tree then this is more than just an accident.

 

IF the scenario is as stated then somone needs to be doing a LOT of explaining as to how even a modest R/A failed to prevent such an avoidable and obvious risk.

 

I've read and re-read the article, and see no mention of the scenario being as you state. My interpretation is that he was felling trees, and a dead branch snapped out, killing him. Sad whatever way it happened.

I got it wrong and have looked at the first post again, at first it sounded like a guy was up a tree and another was felled taking out the tree he was in.

 

apologies for the misunderstanding here.

 

A sad loss, my sympathy for the family concerned.

Totaly agree with Able fellas sentiments regarding time & place for probing of accidents.

 

However, there is a natural and rightful interest by those at risk, into how accidents occur, and I'm sure it's not some gratuitous need to sate a blood/gore lust.

 

& waiting for any HSE report, does not imo, tackle the issue in time.

 

I propose a delayed thread to honour these poor individuals, a place that may serve to aid their memory & to remind & inform the curious.

This would I hope serve to keep the reality of the risk that we're all exposed to fresh & real in our minds.

You can not emphasize this enough, again imo.

 

I'll speak to Steve on this issue further.
