Recommended Posts

Stihl 020T - 1996 - 2002

It was that good the MS200T was introduced which was petty much the same saw with some fancy transfer work and a new carb: -

2002 - 2012

and here we are some 13 years later.........still using the saws deliberating the best top handled saw......er...the fact that they are still very sought after speaks volumes.

Best thing about the 020t was the easily removable baffes, instant power boost (and eardrum punisher)

200t  good saw, but limited lifespan, sought after by industry newbies who think it’ll turn them into Instagram heroes.

It’s bloody useless. Not just weird like someone who’s taken the wrong drugs before a dinner party but often plain wrong. Often enough that you can’t trust it.

*I* can’t trust it, that is. The people who make traffic lights and nuclear reactors run are probably all for it.

A very opened question due to personal preference but, the echo CS2511TESC seems to be the most (best selling) favoured top handle saw bar none. Ropes and harnesses, you need to try them on and see what works best for you, just like boots and trousers. Maybe not try a rope on, match the rope to your ascender, depending on what you want to use.

There's just too much choice these days!

Interesting how the echo is now the best seller.

I love mine, but it runs out of puff in bigger wood.

It is surprising how it has taken off, the rest of the echo range is nowhere near as much of a seller. Right product at the right time I suppose.

The Echo rep was saying that echo have such a huge global market share of top handle saws that they are building a plant dedicated to only producing the 2511. Which is why there is no more stock available until July/August this year.
