How is filling up fuel cans at the service station nonsense?

Piece of piss.

You would think. Our local petrol station have to come out and check your containers to make sure they are approved. Then you can have no more than 10 litres in plastic  or 20 in metal. Had a arguement about combi cans with them once.

Oh right, didn’t realise that, we just go to the credit card pumps and crack on.

I spent three weeks using Aspen every day and found the smell to be really sickly. Was pleased to go back to regular two stroke afterwards. But everyone speaks so highly of it maybe I should try it again?!

When did you try it. It use to give me a headache and it did to a few people. Must of been around 2015 it got  reformulated and I've not had a problem since.  Motomix smells different as it has hp Ulta as the oil and there own blend of fuel. Then Husky one is their xp oil  in some sort of fuel. Don't know if it is aspen or their own blend of fuel

The good old days. You can go to an unattended supermarket one and crack on if you can find one. However or local Tesco Sainsbury's and she'll are on it. A little man will be either wandering out or coming to look at your can. Then saying it needs to be green because it's petrol.....

Then you have to wait in line behind half a dozen morons getting a Costa/Monster because mummy didn’t teach them how to make a flask and a sandwich.

I only buy 5 or 10 ltr cans at one time, as I top up the car, and I haven't recently had the pump switched off on me but yes, it's a pain having to pay at the kiosk again at my local pumps as they have disabled payment at pump. Too much fraud perhaps?

This was end of 2019.

Also, haven't ever experienced or even heard of people being refused service at petrol stations?! I use Tesco self service 99% of the time, including with combi cans, definitely never seen anyone checking to make sure the cans are legit. Then again, I live in Andover which is essentially a third world country, good chance the news hasn't reached us yet.

I have diesel cars, so I fill the car with diesel, return the hose and then wave a 5l petrol can at the cashier and make a sign for them to reset the counter and then I pay for both.  If they see me they generally play ball. You are on CCTV so you can't do a runner.

Less convinced the saws make me stink as the exhaust blows away more, especially up the tree.

I'm not worried about stinking - we all know tree work + sweat = stinky. I have had to take a break many times when using forecourt petrol for my 2 stroke in larger saws, typically 462 and bigger. Admittedly not a problem off the ground, but can be a real problem when ringing up a large trunk, or the last few slices of a tall stump. My eyes were stinging and watering, and chest felt affected too. Now it's Aspen all the way for me.
