It's over 50 years since I planted a hedge with that flowering redcurrant but the smell didn't leave me with a memory, hedge got ripped out within a few years too.

Rotten Ash has a very strong and distinct smell of horse piss. First time I noticed this I was looking around to see where the horse was.

I don't suppose everyone would know what horse piss smells like. (it's the same as rotten Ash btw)

Right, been out this morning in better light! Picture 1 and 2 (white tarpaulin in background) are the same load which I got a few months ago.

Picture 3 and 4 are the same load which I got a few days ago. I took some of the outside bark off picture 4 which revealed a reddish skin underneath.

Hopefully better pictures, thanks for everyone's help so far.

After the better photos it looks like a whole load of Willow to me.
