Just took the Kawasaki Mule out to collect the rubbish thrown out of vehicles on a three-quarter mile stretch by our home

126 Carling cans , a dozen Coke/ Red Bull/Fosters and a bin liner full of other waste

I put up a trail cam, but the trouble is that vehicles are much quicker than wildlife and by the time the camera is activated they are out of range or the .ights interfere

That's alright isn't it, you are keeping someone in employment when you litter the countryside don't you, it is a good thing isn't it...bloody feckers need shooting, who the hell brought these cheesy knobends in to this world and told them so little about how to conduct themselves.

We do the village litter-pick and someone round here has a serious addiction to vodka and Redbull judging by the amount of both brands in our ditches!

A high functioning alcoholic possibly.

They have routes and their preferred beverage, a neighbour had a preference for carling and got 2x 10 or 12 packs every day but he didn't have the social stigma or job that some alcoholics do so sat at home and scuppered the lot.

A lovely place between Dundee and Coupar Angus had a lot of white lightning plastic bottles in most passing places/lay-bys, not many shops about so could have been a motorist who was also a high functioning alcoholic but interestingly white lightning tends to be young people or severe alcoholics bevvy of choice along with dragon soup and other 7-8+% flavoured cheap alcohol.

It is Buckfast down my road, if I had known that is the beverage of choice I would have moved to a better area.

Another full carrier bag this morning, just from the end 1/4 mile of my morning walk. Dog poo bags have stopped for now... I think they realised when I dragged them all out the hedges and left them on the road side.... no more poo bags and someone else cleared them up, result!

Just wondering if school kids should have a day picking up, shielded by a big tractor at either end and a safe trailer in between with several adults in hi vis dealing with the traffic.  This would maybe kill two birds with one stone.  Firstly people would be angry at being held up but then more angry at the litter.  Secondly if the kids see their parents throw stuff out they May say “ if you do that I gotta pick it up”

it must start with children being taught

There is very little litter in Denmark , I think they are brought up there to be proud of their country

what about bringing back deposits on items if they are returned   In fact what was wrong with glass coke and milk bottle? Certainly tastes better out of glass

All of the above! Got to be worth a try. Litter is a filthy scourge in this country.

Some people are a lost cause though, they seem perfectly happy to wallow in their own shite. I've seen some disgusting back gardens, and on the other side of the fence, (if they back onto waste/council/common land), it's even worse.

I saw someone throw a fag out of a car window just now. First thought was killing them.

what are you supposed to do with it as modern cars don't have ashtrays
