Moderately sure it’s not a Hobbs anyway but actually the freeworker one @MattyF has one of.

Yeah you’re right Alex , I was going to say something yesterday.. it’s as good as a Hobbs and lighter ,great for pre tensioning and you can lift limbs up and over stuff but not at Grcs speed.. I can’t fault it but it’s not a Hobbs.

I have had the LD1 Aprpro system for many years- cheaper than the GRCS- game changing bit of gear and I have used it lots for dismantles and lifting. It has a Harken 36 (same as the first GRCS?)- not as powerful as the current version. We broke the winch (pushed beyond its limit) - I was amazed at how straightforward it was to get parts and rebuild it (lots of Harken parts suppliers in UK ports)  The LD1/2 also has a spinlock clutch brake- I like it but some will find a faff. I would not want to be without a system for lifting limbs- once set up it saves alot of time, effort and can be safer in terms of work positioning. Mines not for sale but we'll worth considering the Arbpros if you can find one second hand or want an alternative.

When I first started out on my own I purchased a stein 2001 bollard on account of being able to get a lot of the slack out of the system compared to the flying capstan, and the ease of use. Also 60m of 14mm line. I have done a lot with that kit.

I have used gcrs in the past, from the ground, and defo they have there place and I would love to have one but for me I wouldnt get much use out of it.
