I also couldn't get on with the shizll. it looked super easy to adjust and slide down a stem for blocking down but in practice I found it a pain in the arse.

I don’t have any major issues with it, but there might be an aspect of rope selection there? My go to is 10mm rigging line and we work up from there. I do some pretty big rigging with 10mm too.
I think aluminium being softer you get a little more friction from it, so how you use it does need a bit of adjustment potentially.

Caver Divers are even odder fellows. I did a little caving in the past, and enjoyed it. Physically forcing your body through tight little spaces with hundreds of feet of rock above you is one thing. Doing that under water, not even knowing when you'll break the surface again is off the scale. Upmost admiration and a little incomprehension.

There are tree friction devices that work like a Petzl STOP. They look fairly good for up-tree use.

Since owning a safe block the times the bollard has come out thr can are very few. 

 

But it's rare I'm working on fancy fancy lawns
