Cracking dog in the middle mate, mine should pick up well this year he's 16months old now

Cheers. Floyd (middle) is 2. Deisel the black n white is 16 months and Bracken (top) is 7 at the end of the month but has glaucoma so wont be out beating for the rest of his life. We also have a 14 year old springer who is very unsteady on his feet.

Taking sheep in off the hill, not an arbdog btw, but a few plantations in the background!

This was the first time I'd gathered this hill and apparently the last! No sheep going back on the hill after this gather, seems a bit sad to me.

Too much hassle for the farmer these days, and I guess he'll still get his payments as they are area based and not headage. A flawed subsidy system, same story on hills all over Scotland.

Took six of us, all with dogs about 8-9 hours to gather the hill, I suppose it's an expense he can live without!
