Neighbour as pollarded my acer

That’s not pollarded - it’s been butchered and he’s has come well past  the boundary. He should also have cleared all the waste. At the risk of fostering a bad relationship with him I’d be looking for financial recompense to remove this and replace with a similar size, maybe a bit further in from the boundary

Will do. That's great advice. 👍

Classic ‘planting a tree on a boundary’ scenario I’m afraid.

You are basically forcing your neighbour to have half a tree whether they want one or not.

It’s pretty horrible what he has done, though, and it looks like he’s gone well beyond cutting back to boundary.

You would think he would rather look at a nice tree than that horror show.

It was planted years before I moved in. We're work it out.👍👍

That’s a shitty thing to do, I’d be fuming. I’d plant a row of pleached trees along that boundary now just so the leaves blow into their garden. All the Acer leaves would also be blown into the garden over the next 12 months, by the wind obviously 🙄

That is shocking! I am furious for you, what a horrible, sad little man. As for "hating leaves", he might need a change in profession???

If I was in your position and things ended up getting nasty I would not hesitate to challenge his status as an "amazing gardener" by posting these before and after pics as a google review.

Also, does something like this not constitute criminal damage?

I dont think thats coming back.I hope I am wrong by I thought Japanese Maples were pretty delicate.

He could have made a very costly mistake. I once did a quote to replace a Holly of about that size, the quote came to £60K.

Something to bear in mind.

I know I was being sarcastic. I'm so utterly shocked over it. I'm just flabbergasted at his utter disregard for towards us.

Yes it does. I've wrote a police report and their getting back to me.
