What exactly are you so afraid with the ID cards, what's the worst that could happen? It's just another number to go alongside DOB, PP#, DL#, NI# etc. No biggie. Governments are too incompetent to do anything sinister with it.

Are you scared that they're trying to microchip you again or something?

Don’t start the silly lies and accusations again 42 you know you couldn’t provide any proof last time you went down that stupid path. Who mentioned micro chipping??
It’s not a case of being afraid, I remember the whole Covid passport BS and those who supported it, same ones who are no doubt happy to have digital id.

Anyone else amused how the peeps howling for a certain member to reveal any and all information on here asked for are so vehemently anti ID card?

”cos why should I have to prove anything?”

Absolute BS Mick

question 1, Are you employed or self employed!! Trying to get a context for his strong views on DC pick up ownership by self employed people. refused to answer.
question 2 Where is the coal you use mined, bearing in mind his well documented eco stance and opinions on others. refused to answer.
Not exactly massively compromising levels of personal data eh Mick 🤷‍♂️ “ any and all 🤷‍♂️I don’t think so”

So you’re not interested in any debate with him, you just want to attack and/or insult him anytime he posts?

Debate is fine Mick but you know his technique. The coal thing is just yet another example 🤷‍♂️why on earth just ignore or refuse a simple question like that 🤷‍♂️ You’d be slating me if I were doing the same.

FFS your from Blyth or somewhere, if you are too dense to work out where coal comes from it is a sad show isn't it?

Here is a really handy link where you can get quick answers to all sorts of stuff:

Now, can we go back to the pertinent question, ID cards, what is your fundamental objection to them?

I’m not from Blyth

So where is your coal mined SP 🤷‍♂️Christ this is not a killer question.

No point in debating anything with an individual whom won’t answer simple questions.
I just googled “ where is SP,s coal mined ??.
The answer it gave was “ Ask SP, surely he must know”

Now back to the topic you posted earlier, any thoughts on National ID cards, as a man who has worked all over the world and with any nationality we care to mention on these threads, do they work or not. Anecdotal evidence is good, little funny stories that your colleagues have mentioned that might help the Arbtalk hive mind collectively come to a shared opinion.

Or are you just going to continue to avoid the topic that... checking.. ah yes, the topic that you posted about.

ID cards are a terrible idea. They're probably pretty pointless too given the advances in facial recognition systems; and the fact most people carry a tracker (phone) with them.

If you need to prove who you are then you can do that easy enough.

There aren't many countries that allow you to walk around without any ID, I strongly think it should remain that way here in the UK. At the end of the day they won't let you leave here and go anywhere else without showing ID at some point in the journey.

The way things are going it will be those who support Trump and his ilk who usher in a replay of "Show us your papers".
