Lot or crying and the usual ATL pessimism but explain to me how it’s worse now with the cleaner running engines, lack of heavy industry and coal powered power stations, tighter environmental standards etc etc than say 40-50 years ago, and most importantly what’s the solution in the opinion of those forecasting the doom and gloom scenarios.

Why? Why would anyone bother explaining? You refuse to engage, you're dismissive then abusive when people do. You are also boring and pointless. When people reply you say it's waffle; when people give you sources and references, you say it's bullshit.

There's no point.

Your reply to Anno, yesterday, as an example had no relevance to the quoted post!

There was nothing to reply to in his post seeing as it was nothing more than a very angry outburst 🤷‍♂️ you ain’t done too bad yourself when I ask a few simple questions.

I’ll happily deal in facts all day long, and yeah I’ll definitely call out waffling ATL BS when it’s put out.
“ you are boring and pointless “ 😂😂😂that made me chuckle this morning , top line dumb arse anonymous member comment👍

Just had a quick reread of the post you are referring too that Anus put up and apart from mentioning his 40 year eco job and being an “ Arb” the rest was indeed just an angry insult ridden (like the ones you mention that offend you so much) rant so not sure how or what you expected anyone to reply to that🤷‍♂️

Because all you do is drag out these sources that say the end is neigh, and demand we need to do more.

Whilst simultaneously saying back in your yoof it was an ecological wonderland of plenty, well use common sense and ask what's changed and obviously not for the better!.

We implemented the environmental suggestions from the 50s onwards, which were to rebalance and rebuild the world for the better and they have done exactly the opposite according to your sources.

Well done. You illustrate my point better than ever I could myself.

Not a difficult undertaking it would seem.
As Gareth has just pointed there are a few contradictions in much of what’s being stated. Pretty much what I initially posted and asked the questions about.

Your first line (and your posts yesterday) suggest that, despite creditable sources regarding the decline in UK bird pops (which you refuse to accept), you still do not believe that we are living through an environmental catastrophe,

re: your second line: common sense is an unreliable witness; long, term countrywide surveys are much more reliable than personal, local observation. (Numbers can, and do, increase locally - or for an individual species in the midst of an overall decline.)

Your third line seems to contradict your first: you now seem to agree that that things are not looking good.

So whichever environmental suggestions were implemented 'from the fifties', they haven't worked (agree with you there; but that timescale includes the removal of DDT, Paraquat and organo-phosphate sheep dips - to name but three (pick three others if you find these examples unsuitable, there are many to choose from, I only chose these three as they are well known: their use here is as a mere illustration, nothing more) - which,i f still in use would see us in a much, much worse situation than ever we are now) a new approach is needed to offset their failure.

But when this was suggested you cry bullshit and waffle.

Think your reading far to much into my phrasing in arguments, I don't think there is a problem here and that's from my own experience of low input farming.

What I question is the bin lid banging environmentalists that quote these sources and keep saying it's getting worse here and ideas keep becoming ever worse regulation and control of our daily life.

Pick a particular thing and we can always go down the rabbit hole, but my argument is always here not in Tibet.

Problem is the environmental types will never be satisfied even if we turned off everything at 3pm.
