Knew someone who always wore a bandana under his chainsaw helmet, but he was Canadian and a twat.

I'm not Canadian, but I'm probably a twat, and I always wear a buff under a helmet, whether it's rock or arb. Keeps my beautiful flowing locks under control, because obviously I have to pony tail it all instead of having my usual twat knot. Because you aren't allowed to cut a hole in the top of your helmet to accommodate it.

To the OP, I recommend wearing a buff under your helmet, even in warm weather, as it helps sweat to evaporate instead of accumulate.

By 9am I may as well have been in the river I’m that bad…

After how long should I be used to the work?

Dunno, didn’t know there were so many heavy sweaters out there.

My climate here in SW France is much hotter than yours in Scotchland.
I am mostly arb as opposed to forestry though, so spend most of the day shagging housewives in air conditioned comfort for a grand a day, which helps of course.
