when I got back to my truck, I was confronted by the same guy telling me he had all cleared up but I’d really ruined his day … I did wonder if he was retarded ,but it gained on me that rules or laws don’t apply too two thirds of the population as they clearly feel they have a given right to do what they want when and where they like… also turning up to a job on sat morning and with the third load of timber just loaded on a guy turns up and was very disappointed I was taking it as he wanted it , despite again being on private land whilst watching his dog shitting at the entrance I asked him if he wants to pay for this load of timber and I’ll drop it off for him … I can leave to your imagination his reply but I’m getting sick of dealer with folk who think they can do whatever they want when they want and **************** everybody else.. this thread is kind of up there and makes me realise why my blood pressure is getting so high. 

 

Entitlement is off the scale thats for sure.

 

I mean having the hump over having to pay for parking is one thing, but to actually post about it on a forum is just embarrassing!

Leave nothing but footprints and take nothing but memories if you are on someone else land. I reckon a lot of landowners wouldn't be too bothered if everyone who went on the land respected it, left it as they found it but you get the idiots who think that land owner is the bin man providing a forest of free firewood. If the land owners pops along to ask you to move then accept and respect their wishes and similarly if they ask you to chip in to pay for upkeep of a parking area, fences, bins or whatever then why not?

 

(It is littering that gets me - mostly because that is what affects me most, into 'my' wood windblown off the road but the number of -worldwideburgerchain- bags dumnped within 5m of the council emptied (daily) litter bin... deep breath SP, deep breaths.....)

In this case the landowner is us, the tax paying public. It’s an access road to a scout hut/outside adventure place, they may own the ‘hut’ and car park but they don’t own the access road or the surrounding woodland. Because Steve thinks it’s embarrassing I’ll go no further than saying, what will it be next that ‘we’ pay for, then get charged to use it.

We don't own it, the local council would if it's an adopted and tarmacked road.

 

Gravel road generally means owned by someone in this case the RSPB probably and the scouts have right if access.

Tarmac road with gravel pull ins. It’s not just my opinion, the landlord in the very remote pub has had enough of it, big companies, that what the scouts are, trying to screw money out of people.

I’ve got a place that I rent out, I chose to live like this. My problem is with big companies trying to rip people off. They have absolutely no right to impose parking fees on a public road.
