any advice or help would be appreciated greatly!

I might not be able to offer you technical advice since I'm in the process of changing careers, but I tip my hat to you for wanting to start your own business at such a young age.

Thanks for all the advice lads !

I’ve came to the conclusion that starting a business this early isn’t wise !

I’ve decided to take a leap of faith and travel to Australia in 2 months time.   Thought I’d give myself the chance to see abit of the world whilst I’m young !

cheers !

Decisive! Good luck. I was working for one of my oldest (time, not age) clients yesterday. I started for him when he was 25 ish and was instantly impressed with his chutzpah. Not sure how but you remind me of him. Go and do great deeds.

You won’t regret that, go see the world and realise how bad things have become here then find something better to park and call home. If I had time round again I would be gone in a heartbeat

Good decision.  Have fun, learn loads and come back a better, all round tree worker.

UK trees will seem like midgets compared to some of the trees you will see in Oz.

Good luck.

When you’re young and ambitious it is easy to make a decision like that.

YOLO.  Do it before birds, kids and mortgages IMO.

It suggests you don't trust the customer asking for payment straight away along with that you are skint and desperate.

So trusting customers to pay is the basis of a good relationship with them ,then they return...

Your point about how asking for immediate payment can undermine trust with customers is interesting. It got me thinking about the broader principle of fairness in business dealings.

I recently read a blog post that discusses similar concepts in the context of employment background checks and argues for reform to prevent discrimination: https://www.lawgroup.biz/addressing-employment-discrimination-through-comprehensive-background-check-reform

While it's a different industry, I think there's a parallel between building trust with customers and promoting fairness in other areas like hiring. Definitely food for thought when considering best practices for a successful business!
