New billhooks manufacturing?

I’m after a solid forged Yorkshire billhook, no weld.

Some of these vintage ones on auction sites are ridiculous money so I’d rather buy something new.

Morris of Dunsford no longer going can anyone recommend where to look brands/shops/websites?

Thanks

Ron

Yeah for some reason yorkshires ones are over £150

I don't think anyone makes the quality ones in UK might be some small scale bespoke blacksmiths?

Itay still has several makers  patterns are different but they do have a mssive range of some very very similar regional  patterns to the yorkshire like the rimini ones etc.

Richard Carter Ltd, has invested a quarter of a million pounds in to new state-of-the-art machinery and is...

I believe these are forged in Yorkshire - unless they just put the handles on.

Good quality.

I think you get what you pay for, don't expect a modern billhook for £25 to keep an edge.

I have only just discovered that it is really important with a double edged hook that the straight edge runs right to the tip, it is the last in that does some important work.

If you are going to be serious about hedge laying paying for a vintage one will be worth it, interesting regardless of style the professionals mainly use Yorkshire hooks, perhaps why they are expensive.
